You get access to a course by redeeming a code. Depending on the course, the code can be found:
1. in the paper textbook accompanying the Sofia course; 2. in the Acco webshop (go to shop.acco.be).

Minimal system requirements
Since Sofia is a smooth-running e-learning platform, you don’t need extreme horsepower to use it. Nevertheless, you better leave your Commodore 64 where it is.
Your browser must have javascript enabled to be able to use Sofia. In general, we strongly advise to use the latest browser-version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari for Mac. However, here are a few minimal system requirements:
Sofia supports the following browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Safari 15.x and higher
Sofia supports these browsers only on these operating systems:
- Windows 11
- Windows 10
- Windows 8.1
- MacOS 12 and higher
The browser version Sofia supports depends on the Sofia release date. When a new version of Sofia is released we support the latest current version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari for MacOS (these browsers usually automatically update whenever a newer available version is detected). Since Januari 1, 2019 Sofia does not support the browser Internet Explorer anymore.

Devices
Sofia is designed for limited use on tablets and smartphones only. Authors will have the best user experience on PC’s or laptops when creating courses. We discourage authoring courses on tablets or smartphones. Why fry a black angus steak on a hot brick if you have a perfectly decent grill?
